Our Story
ROVE is a British knitwear label, design studio & small batch knitwear factory based in Margate, Kent.
Founded in 2013, ROVE began at a workstation set up around the kitchen table. The label was born from a desire to find quality, long lasting knitwear manufactured in Britain using traceable British spun wool. The brand has evolved with the modern day need for sustainable, low impact clothing by offering organic, natural, recycled or biodegradable materials as well as a traceable production process.
"Our seasonal collections feature unique designs made to last well beyond a single season. Each piece is thoughtfully developed as a continuation of the last, so the range grows slowly and intentionally." - Rose
Our Team
A small team of two designs and makes every hat, scarf, and jumper you see. Rose leads on design, programming, and sampling, while Harriet expertly hand-finishes each piece to the highest standard. Like all micro businesses, we both move fluidly around the studio, stepping in wherever needed.
We also work remotely with Alex, who supports us with bookkeeping, and Rachel, who brings her expertise to all things marketing.
We’ve proudly partnered for years with traditional factories in and around Nottingham—an area steeped in knitwear heritage. The skilled technicians we work with have become trusted colleagues. They use specialist British machinery and generations of expertise to knit our gloves and socks, ensuring a quality finish that honours the legacy of UK textile manufacturing. Supporting them means supporting a rich tradition of homegrown craftsmanship and keeping these vital skills alive.
